Rockin 90's
Do I need to blog about this? The 90's is basically everything clomped together to get a new era. Everything in the past is brought into the 90's and remodeled into something else. The 90's mainly had ripped jeans as a look along with a t-shirt. There was also flannels in and a nerdy look. The girls would look professional and very pretty. The shoes that are famous are the vans, doc martins, converse, airwalks, etc.
I'm not going to even say my thoughts because the 90's look is something we wear everyday without even knowing it. I pretty much have a lot of things that are from the 90's but in today's era, its different and remolded. Apparently, retro and vintage things are coming back and I like it. :)

grungy 80's
The 80's was basically an age of a more Gothic, rocking look. Women's hair were either feathered, rave (stiff stiff), stick up bangs, multi-colored, crimped, ultra-teased, platinum blonde, glittered, or side ponytails. Women and men often wore Candies, flats,Granny boots,L.A Gear, pumps, Scrunch boots,Vans, or Air Jordans. Makeup for women int this time was the heavy mascara, blue eye shadow, the glitter and the pink lips. Some of the pants that both men and women wore are jeans (denim), zippered legs, ¾ length legging, leg warmers, scrunch socks, exercise gear, super tight minis, colored hose w/rips, spandex, mini skirts, and bubble skirts. Some of the tops that men and women wore are off-shoulder shirts, ¾ sleeves, crop top, primary colors, pink sweater, sweater on waist, neon, matching socks, thick belts, long t-shirts, and mesh shirts. Some of the accessories that they wore are clock necklaces, friendship stuff, plastic charms, hoop earrings, high tops, puff paint, safety pins, beads, slap/rubber bracelets, big hair bows, fingerless gloves, backpacks, hello kitty, Winnie the pooh, and Velcro.
Overall, I really do like the 80's because most of today's fashion involves the 80's look or a remake of it. I have some of the things that the people of the 80's wore, such as the fingerless gloves. But I don't like the grungy look because it looks like someone spilled a lot of makeup over that person's face and it became a look. Plus, the rocking things going on was a bit hit and it just makes me feel like the world is falling apart. Oh well, good for them, bad for us because the world is slowly dying from riots.

groovy 70's
Basically, the 70's were the real groove and disco fever season. The fashion was brought over from the late 60's, or the hippies, and into the 70's. Surfing was also a big fashion sense in this time as well. The 70's had mostly bell bottoms and weird print for the shirts. The shoes were either platforms or some kind of heel that would make women 5 inches taller then normal height, I'm guessing the women were short in this time. Dresses and skirts came in 3 lengths. Traditional mini, new midi (landed between the knee and the ankle) and the maxi (reached the floor). Maxi skirts and long ‘granny’ dresses were popular with formal events. Granny dresses were often paired with chokers w/cameos for the Victorian look which was popular. In the late 70's, there were jumpsuits, one-piece outfits that were zipped up the front and worn with a wide belt. Tube tops also came in the late 70's and were a big hit. Some of the accessories were shark tooth necklaces, hello kitty, Winnie the Pooh, and skinny belts. A lot of the hair styles were afros, crimped hair, long-hippy hair and a stack perm (disco hair).
I personally like how the 70's looked, but I didn't like all that groovy, weird stuff. I actually didn't know that I had some 70's stuff hidden in my closet. I also didn't know that hello kitty was a big thing back then as well. I lovee hello kitty and she's my favorite cat when I was a young girl. All that disco dancing thing, is just weird for me to look at. The people back then danced too much, but they did have great bodies compared to today's society. When I hear '70's', I think of Austin Powers again and a huge disco dancing place with flashy lights and some lady with an afro dancing like she doesn't care. No offense.

sweet 60's
In the 60's, women wore miniskirts and mainly wore suits along with dark makeup. The beehive hairstyle was also popular in this time era. A lot of day dresses were worn and also mods. There were bold colors such as red, blue and green. Other clothing that women wore in this time period are also taken from the late 50's and into the early 60's. The main look that most women tried to copy was the 'Twiggy look' because Twiggy was one of the biggest icons of the 60's. Some accessories that were seen in the 60's were love beads, pearls, and hair combs. In the late 60's fashion took a turn towards a more 'green and natural' environment and it lead into the hippies.
My opinion of the 60's is that this century is just a weird one. I don't like all that groovy and green look that much, it makes me think that they are too old. But I have to admit that they people in this time era were changing a lot and it also changed the world. One of the way that the 60's changed the world was the protests and the strange fashion look. When I hear '60's', I instantly think of Austin Powers and all that groovy stuff. I don't hate this era, I just think it's weird how people are just soo calm and collected and just peacefully weird.

50'S retro~!
In the 50's, fashion became a more vivid and wild kind of fashion. There was a lot of retro and vintage clothing as well as pokka dots prints. Clothing that both men and women wore were Levi jeans, poodle skirts, saddle shoes, sloppy Joe sweaters, polo shirts, T-shirts, circle skirts, Bermuda shorts, carpi pants, baby doll dresses, bikini, black leotards, stand up collars, satin jackets, etc. The shoes that were worn in this era are Mary Jane’s, penny loafers. saddle shoes, ballerina flats, converse, and athletic shoes. The hairstyles that were popular in this time were the pixie cut, apache hairstyle, and pompadour hair. Some accessories that women wore are ankle and wrist bracelets, cat-eye glasses, waist belts, boas, and neck scarf. Men wore suspenders, wallet chains, beanies, and fedora hats. One of the famous styles of this time was the greaser style.
What I think about the 50's: I actually like this time period because the clothes were becoming more expressive and colorful. The kids at this age were more rebellious and I liked it because the teens also had a say in this world. The way the 50's dress catches my eye in today's fashion and you can easily spot it from a far distance. I also have a lot of 50 style clothing in my closet but I didn't even know about until I started this little project. Ahhh, I just like the vintage stuff, it makes my day.

THE 40'S!
Ahhhh, the 40's fashion had a lot going on since there was the war and people not importing goods into the USA anymore. In early 40's, women wore classic dresses and 2-piece suits. They also wore laced heels or corked wedges. In 1946, the 2-piece swimsuit was created and then later the bikini. During the war times, clothing factories couldn't make much clothes because they were switched to war factories. Clothing items such as silk, were replaced by nylon for women to wear. Women also worked in the factories and wore clothing that wouldn't get stuck in the machines. After the war, women started to wear fuller and longer dresses. The mermaid style was popular as a dress style. Women also wore corsets to look thinner and wanted to wear shorter skirts. T-shirts and tuxedos were the popular items in men's wardrobe. The raincoat was introduced thanks to the military.
Personally, I do like this era style of fashion. I love the raincoats and how the dresses look cute on women. The t-shirts are comfy for today's wear and it can go with anything I wear today. I think that the tuxedo is a good choice since it makes men look neat and clean. Overall, the fashion is getting better and Lena approves!

30's Fashion~!
In the 30's, the females returned to being the the classy ladies of the century. They were more gentle-like with more curves and rounded busts. The hair became softer and more curler, but it was still cut short as the style. The hairstyles improved more as perms became more popular in this century. Hats were worn to cover the forehead so that big fore-headed women wouldn't be so embarrassed. Day clothes were more feminine and lovely sweet; night clothes showed more glamour and bling. When women wore skirts, the skirts were longer in the back then the front. The hemlines reached the bottom of the calves and the fabric was like a draping fabric. ZIPPERS were made in this time period and they mostly used for shoes, tobacco pouches, and navy jackets. The little black dress was also brought into this period.
WHAT I THINK OF THIS FASHION: well, I have to admit, this time period is an okay era as fashion started to change. First thing, I like the zipper ideas, but I don't like it how it was used for tobacco pouches. The day clothes were a little too cute and sweet, but it fit at that time period. The night clothes were the real glamour and the real beauty, but then again, I don't like partying. Anywho, I really don't like this time period or the fashion, but in today's fashion sense, it's alright.
